Jenna Raso invites us over

this mama's got it going on. She's young, design-saavy and rocking her job as a college beauty instructor. She's also a cheeseburger lovin' foodie and girl mom to Frankie, 5 and Presley, 3. Meet Jenna Raso.

Her home is like a warm hug. It's comfortable, in a trendy, kid-friendly neighbourhood, and has the perfect mix of modern, boho and vintage-style decor. Oh, and did I mention, it's just a hop, skip and a jump to the lake? Her space is not only beautiful, but it feels homey - a place where you can kick back and hang in for hours. She's naturally drawn to spaces with a story and that are full of texture and soul. And that is exactly what her home on Lake Crescent is.

They bought the house on a whim. "My husband Matt - a Toronto realtor - took me on a tour of our now home. Not expecting to buy it, we instantly fell in love with its century old charm and left thinking we couldn't let this one go," she said.  And so her love affair with restoring the integrity and character of the home was born and their 10-month journey to bring it back to life for her family of four began.

"Hands down, my favourite room in the house is our bedroom," says Jenna. They converted the old attic space and added dormers to create a large, open master that spans the entire length and width of the home. The space also includes two walk-in closets, a separate office area, an ensuite bathroom and laundry. "We added three skylights to bring in lots of natural light. It's all white with gold accents and the space immediately brings me peace. If my kids would allow it, I would spend days at a time up there!"

What's her mom-losophy? Keep it light and easy. "I travel to NYC at least twice a year (sans kids) to shop and eat in my fave spots," she adds. Jenna's a lover of music and horror movies, and a girl who makes time for those she loves, no matter what. Becoming a mother has taught her to sit back and enjoy life: stress a little less each day and love with her whole heart.
